Rev. Mark Girard
Lexington District Superintendent

Mark graduated from Franklin County High School, EKU, and Lexington Theological Seminary. He was ordained Elder in 1984. He has served Mt. Hebron UMC (Mercer County), Southern Hills (associate), Wesley Foundation E.K.U., Harrodsburg UMC, Asbury UMC (Covington), and as Superintendent of Ashland District. Within the Connection, Mark has served as Chair of DCOM in Danville, Frankfort and Covington Districts, the Registrar and Chair of Board of Ordained Ministry in the former Kentucky Conference, on the Board of Ordained Ministry of Kentucky Annual Conference, as chair of the DCOM Work Team, on the Higher Education Committee, the Episcopacy Committee, and the Aldersgate Camp Committee.  Mark has been married to Karen for 32 years. Their daughter, Anna, just finished law school at UK.

 

Rev. Susan Skaggs
Small Membership Church Coordinator

Susan is a Deacon in Full connection serving the Lexington District in assisting clergy and local church leaders within smaller congregations to increase their viality by resourcing their needs.   She is married to Dr. Lynn Skaggs a veterinarian in Clark County for over 30 years and has three daughters.  She enjoys living on their farm and watching her 3 grandchildren.

 

 

   

Jessica Wells
Adminstrative Assistant/dCOM Registrar

Jessica assists Rev. Mark Girard and provides the District with communication concerning events, prayer requests, and administrative needs.  She is also the registrar for the District Committee on Ordained Ministry and the resource person for candidates for ministry and local pastors.  Jessica is married to Stephen and they have 2 boys.
